At its core it is a complex industry encompassing several processes such as – fiber production, spinning, weaving, dyeing, and finishing. It is a major driver of trade and supply of employment, especially in world’s textile giants; the Asian countries such as China, India and Bangladesh.
The Textile industry is becoming more progressive with innovations in sustainability strategies and implements. Technological advancements put forth by brands in the textile industry include work on; biodegradable fibers, water-free dyeing, and AI machinery. Also, there is an increasing use of green material such as organic cotton, hemp and recycled polyester because the society has shown a willingness to embrace the rights of the environment.
Textile industry is also inspired from cultural exports especially in weaving and dyeing processes and techniques like Ikat, Block printing and handloom crafts are found in combination with modern technologies. Thanks to constant changes in consumer behavior and global situations, the textile industry is an important part of technology, environment, and growth.
